The Gollut Festival is a showcase of social and environmental cinema with a commitment to the inclusion of diversity.
Throughout the 10 editions that make up the festival, we have given voice to filmmakers committed to social and/or environmental issues. Beyond entertainment, we believe in cinema as a tool for reflection, awareness, and learning, both on a personal and collective level. We aim to promote a cinema that revisits our historical and audiovisual heritage, our past; a cinema that makes us experience and rethink our current situation; moreover, a cinema that helps shape the imagery of our future.
The Gollut Festival advocates for auteur cinema, with an ethical and aesthetic commitment, creative freedom, exploring and experimenting with new narratives and forms of audiovisual representation.
We support creative talent that proposes new perspectives, new ways of approaching the world, and new modes of representation. We want the festival to promote and enhance audiovisual creativity, to review, rethink, and experiment with the possibilities of understanding and using the cinematic device, both in terms of form and content.
We are particularly interested in works that explore new narratives, new cinematic genres, and new forms of audiovisual representation.
The Gollut Festival supports peripheral cinema, which often gets relegated to the background.
We make space for subversive cinema that often remains outside the commercial distribution circles. We aim to provide a platform for emerging artists and filmmakers who often struggle to find spaces to showcase their work, whether due to the uniqueness of their proposals or because they have not yet gained the recognition they deserve. Revisitamos nuestra historia audiovisual para recordar y visibilizar aquellas obras que a menudo han quedado olvidadas o silenciadas por la historia canónica del cine.
The Gollut Festival is a meeting space that fosters collective film experiences and reflection on audiovisuals.
We believe in cinema as a social tool for collective reflection. Therefore, the festival is committed to continuing to promote cinema as a social space for gathering, sharing, and weaving collective reflections, thoughts, and sensations. This aims to go beyond our individual experience with images and sounds, which we often encounter in our daily lives. In addition to screening sessions, the festival offers a range of activities aimed at promoting the creation and reflection around the audiovisual medium.
The Gollut Festival is a festival belonging to the Amics del cinema de la Vall de Ribes.
